They serve up hot pakodas made from paneer, aloo (potato), pyaz (onion), palak (spinach), gobi (cauliflower), and kela (banana). The paneer pakodas are especially delightful, as they’re as soft as cotton and come with a tangy green chutney, making them the perfect snack for your evening cravings. Gabbar’s is open from 2 pm to 10 pm daily.

2.Chandra Marwadi Bhaojnalye

Marwadi Bhojanalay, situated on Ram Path Marg, was established in 1948 by Chandra Marwadi. They offer a variety of dishes including chhola bhatura, poori sabji, paneer paratha, pav bhaji, and poha for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, they have a wide selection of mushroom, paneer, dal, and vegetable dishes, along with unlimited Deluxe, Special, and Marwadi thalis priced between Rs. 250-280.

Hundreds of samosas are served within minutes, packed up for takeout, and the process repeats continuously. Your waiting time depends on when you arrive because it’s a non-stop cycle of samosa making.

These samosas are quite large and come with two types of chutneys: a sweet red one and their special spicy chutney made with green chili, ginger, and garlic.

4.Mahaveer Ki Tikiya

For the past 70 years, Mahaveer ki tikiya has changed its location a couple of times, from Rekabganj chauraha to Niyawan Road, and now to a small lane near Utkarsh Small Finance Bank. But locals always manage to find them for their evening tikiya fix. The crispy potato tikiya isn’t perfectly round; it’s oddly shaped and extra crunchy. They serve it with dry yellow peas cooked on the tawa’s edges, topped with chutney, coriander leaves, spicy masala powder, and a squeeze of lime.

5.Moti Samosa Bhandar

Before the City Station flyover was built in 2017, Moti Samosa Bhandar was the most popular spot for samosas in town. It was run by Mahesh Kumar Gupta and his staff of eight who operated a pushcart. Despite facing challenges like a serious accident in 2012 and the chaos of bridge construction from 2014 to 2017, Mahesh Kumar Gupta continued his father’s legacy, Moti Lal Gupta, who migrated from Yangon (formerly Rangoon) in 1958 due to civil unrest after World War II. His grandmother, originally from Myanmar, stayed in a nearby dharamsala before they became famous for their samosas, which were sold for just 20 paisa back then.

Mahesh attributes the success of their samosas to the quality of their product and good customer service. Although Moti Lal Gupta passed away on April 29, 1997, his legacy lives on through their samosas. These samosas are smaller than Ram ji’s and have a delicate blend of spices including saunf, jeera, and matar. They’re served on baisakhi patta with green chutney and red chutney. The shop opens at 3 pm and is located opposite Deva Hospital, Under the Overbridge, Vaidehi Nagar.

6.Chatori Restaurant

The new restaurant, located at Chhoti Devkali to the left of Rampath on the way to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, offers delicious chhola-bhatura, parathas, tandoori, and North Indian, and Chinese dishes.
