Ingredients For Instant and Quick Moong Dal Halwa:

Yellow moong dal | 1 cup
Sugar syrup
Sugar | शक्कर 1 1/4 cup
Water | पानी 1 litre
Green cardamom powder | इलाइची पाउडर a pinch
Saffron केसर 15-20 strands
Ghee 1 cup (for cooking halwa)
Almond | बादाम 1/4 cup
Cashew | काजू 1/4 cup (chopped)
Rava | रवा 3 tbsp
Gram flour | बेसन 3 tbsp
Nuts for garnishing

Preparation of Moong Dal Halwa With Picture

1.Soaking Moong Dal-

Wash the yellow moong dal thoroughly to remove dirt and soak for 2 hours. Pat dry for a while in a dry cloth.

2.Roast moong Dal

Next, place a wok and dry roast the washed moong dal over medium heat until it is completely dry and changes color slightly(Shown in a picture). After properly roasting, move the mixture to a plate to cool down, then move it to a grinding jar to create a coarse powder.

3. Roast Dry Fruit And Prepare sugar syrup

Take a pan put 2tsp of ghee then roast dry fruit in ghee. After its roast kept aside.

4.Prepare sugar syrup

Take a pan and put 1 cup of water, sugar, and saffron together. After a boil let it simmer until it contain on-string consistency means (1 Tar ki chasni). Take some liquid in between your index finger and thumb. Slightly press and pull only 1 string it shows that your sugar syrup(Chasni) is ready.

4.Cooking Moong Dal Paste

  • Place a medium-sized wok over medium heat(use the pan that use for roast the ghee), add the ghee and allow it to warm up slightly. Add the Rava and Besan to the same wok and ghee.
  • Stir constantly and cook over low heat until the mixture turns biscuity and aromatic after 2-3 min add moong dal powder mix well.Keep the flame low
  • Once the color reaches the biscuity stage, carefully add the prepared sugar syrup and cinnamon in batches and stir well,
  • At first, the dish will seem extremely watery, but the dal will absorb the water as you stir and cook it.
  • Once the whole sugar syrup has been added, you must continue stirring and and cooking until the ghee separates and all of them

5. Ghee separated

Add remaining ghee & stir continuously cooking until the ghee separates and all of them(As shown in picture).Your Moong dal halwa is ready.

6.Garnishing

Garnish with chopped almonds, cashews, and pistachio.
